  •  Keep - Majority of these images were taken by the FBI/DOJ and thus are free, this is the issue i pointed out at Village Pump, you have literally created the problem i mentioned there by mass nominating these images by Jumping the gun, we all know majority of images not taken by the DOJ/FBI were taken by an employee, Ghislaine or Jeffrey themselves but Jeffrey officially owns all the rights to those images and videos that were taken from, unfortunately, the law is a bit gray in the area cause as a convicted sex offender and now a deceased sex offender, everything the DOJ/FBI has on them is now "their" legal property and unless stated otherwise, those images can be freely released here on commons under the House Oversight committee licence (if they were released by them) or the DOJ, as it stand, This is the only image that can be rightfully nominate for deletion as we know it was taken by a professional photographer via getty --Stemoc 08:49, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
If some of the files are created by the FBI why are they uploaded with unknown author as source? We already had the discussion with photos of terrorist organisations. Doing criminal actions does not have any effect on the copyright someone has on their creative works. GPSLeo (talk) 09:46, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
What is the "House Oversight committee licence"? Federal govt works do not have any license because they're public domain, and even so, the {{PD-USgov}} template only applies to works "prepared by an officer or employee of the United States Government". If you're trying to argue that the works are public domain because the supposed owner is a convicted sex offender, see COM:PCP point 6 which explicitly rules out such arguments. – Howardcorn33 (💬) 10:17, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete per nom, no evidence is provided that these photos are taken by FBI/DOJ employees, or that the copyright were transferred from third party to the US government and the US gov has released these to PD. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 12:00, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep File:Heated Exchange between Representative Eric Swalwell and FBI Director Kash Patel over the Epstein Files.webm, I just noticed this video was included in the DR, but as mentioned below, it is clearly a US Gov work. Thanks. Tvpuppy (talk) 00:53, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete Per nom and Tvpuppy, no evidence shows these photos were taken by U.S. government employees or that copyright was transferred. Many lack clear authorship and dates. TheWikiholic (talk) 14:48, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep File:Jeffrey Epstein passport.jpg as a scan of a {{PD-USGov-DOS}} work, File:Heated Exchange between Representative Eric Swalwell and FBI Director Kash Patel over the Epstein Files.webm as an unambiguous federal work,  Delete all others for reasons stated above. Based5290 (talk) 20:05, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Are passport photos in the US created by government employees or do you bring your own photo? In the later case the copyright belongs to the photographer. GPSLeo (talk) 10:54, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@GPSLeo: prior discussions on US passport photos have ended in contradictory results, see here. – Howardcorn33 (💬) 13:21, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
 Keep - Per Based5290 CMBGAMER 2018 (talk) 21:43, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep Too broad a nomination. As per above, at least some files are not subject to copyright. Cortador (talk) 22:07, 20 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Keep per Cortador Oreocooke (talk) 23:50, 21 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
How can they both have unknown authors and also be in the public domain as works of the federal government? Trade (talk) 00:02, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Delete (with the exception of File:Heated Exchange between Representative Eric Swalwell and FBI Director Kash Patel over the Epstein Files.webm). Does anyone really believe File:Epstein Winnie the Pooh.png or File:Epstein Michael Jackson.png was taken by a federal employee during their official duties? We know the files released by House Oversight Democrats were provided by the Epstein estate (meaning Epstein or his associates took them), and similarly, many of the recent DOJ releases are of previously collected third-party media. If the FBI retrieved a DVD of Star Wars from Epstein's house, that doesn't mean Star Wars is now public domain: the same rationale applies to photographs found in his estate. --Animalparty (talk) 01:43, 22 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Vitorperrut555 and CMBGAMER 2018: : regarding "Keep per Based5290", Based5290 above advocated deleting all files listed except two. Is this what you are also supporting? --Animalparty (talk) 01:04, 27 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. CMBGAMER 2018 (talk) 04:34, 27 December 2025 (UTC)[reply]
