Thanks for reading Rahul, I’m really glad you enjoyed it. Given current technology, purely optical computers just aren’t feasible. If we manage to develop the technology at some point, optical computers will provide much greater performance than optoelectronic. Having said that, optoelectronic computers would also become much more affordable, so they could conceivably move further into the consumer space. Either way, it’s certainly interesting technology!
